Mamak is a catering company dedicated to providing authentic Malaysian foods to British food retailers. We believe that authentic Malaysian food is the next stage in British cuisine (after Thai and Vietnamese)
In Malaysia, the word ‘mamak’ (a Tamil-originated term meaning ‘uncle’) has come to be used for stalls in food bazaars or even restaurants run by Tamil-originated people who have settled in Malaysia and have usually intermarried with the native Malays.

These stalls and restaurants normally serve all manner of Malaysian cuisine such as Malay, Chinese and of course its own unique Indian fare. They have become the main permanent fixture in the landscape of Malaysian cuisine.
These Mamak shops usually have a variety of Malaysian meals such as Nasi Lemak (A Malaysian breakfast rice meal with a variety of dishes), Roti Canai (A uniquely Malaysian fluffy bread with curry and a tangy chili sauce) and Nasi Kandar (Another uniquely Malaysian lunch and dinner meal which consists of rice and a variety of spicy dishes).
